S.A Underground Magazine (July 2013 issue)

We had the privilege of meeting one of BBR’s illest Mcees…Not only does he dominate with his sense of skill but he Creates beats too.
A Multi talented Individual By the Name of KAPTURE…
Interview Conducted By @AsserDialectic

1 (A)- Who is Kapture, where you from & How did the Name come About?

(K)- Kapture real name Ronald Malele from Relane Bushbuckridge, the name came when I used to battle in high skool I was killing mc’s left n right then my friend (Armstrong) said to I capture this mc’s like a camera without a photographer! Then I called my self Kapture from that moment

(A)2-What’s something that people do not know
about you?

(K)- am a day-day IT administrator

(A)- 3- What makes you different
from other rappers?

(K)- I only listen to hardcore underground,am a Beatmaker (Kaptured-beats) and also a open to any mc’s willing to collab with me

(A)-4-What influences you day to day?
(K)- the hustle people go through and the bible

(A)-5– Was there a specific moment in
your life where you thought, “music is
what I want to do”?
(K)- yes, when I saw that people from my hometown don’t have the kinda beats I make and my style am bringing, that’s when I hooked up with Masta H to showcase what I can do

(A)-6-Do you have other passions in life?
Do you believe passion is an essential
part of success?

(K)-passion, yes I have passion for making beats, well having passion is one thing but following it till the end is another, so first seek God to strengthen you through out the entire process

(A)-7-Right now, who would you look up to?
Who do you think is a real game-changer in the
music industry?

(K)-well in this nation I would say Masta H, because he brought his own style and now every Kat is coming out with the same style,as for underground I don’t know yet because the industry is hiding us *Laughs*

(A)-8-Can you name one especially fun
memory from production? Was anybody
particularly great to work with?

(K)- not a fan but, working with King thought crime from the US was a special moment for me because I have a chance to make beats for an international underground mc

(A)-9-What do you feel is the most pressing
or important problem in our society now, and do
you feel as though your experience as an artist
has aided or complicated your involvement in
these issues?

(K)- – the important problem in most societies is that most young kats concentrate on making money through the music rather than elevating each other with knowledge say about illuminati for example,in my music I talk about secret societies and The New Age movement and their plans, so basically what am doing is teaching people about this things which they are not aware of

(A)-10-What’s your favorite line/verse in your songs that makes you say that’s the line/verse right there! (that defines me, if I could be remembered it would be that line/verse)(K)- “am like death in the family,am hard to forget, walking through the cemetery with the mic (my tattoo on ma chest) attached to my chest”

(A)-11–What should we be looking out for from u
this year, well the year is almost over so
next year perhaps?

(K)- well this year, am still gon drop my mixtape (Devinity) end of, still gon drop the album “The Chosen Ones” with DeeAre Beats from the US, still gon drop a mixtape with Wit-Beats, and I gat couple of projects in the pipeline with ma hometown kats, and am also working on some beats for Masta H for his 3rd mixtape dropin next year, did I mention am also working on my website where kats will be buying my beats online… coming soon

Name: Ronald , Kapture “Tha Angelik”

Age: 1988 Oct 29

I have produced beats for so many artists in a very short period ever since last year
Most of the artists I did some work for are upcoming artists in different provinces such as Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Eastern Cape and KZN. I also produced couple of beats for international artists as well. The list below is all the artists / producers which I have worked with and some still working with currently
1.  Masta H (Mpumalanga)
2.  Mr Doo (Mpumalanga)

Most of the people on the list above did not only put out mixtapes with my beats on it but albums as well. My current project is called The Chosen One’s, it’s an Ep which am working with DeeAre Beats from the US who is also a dope underground producer, he has produced tracks for artists such as Son Of Saturn, Life Science, Bliss, Kalki, Ascended masters etc. our project consists of 10 tracks, 4 tracks produced by me and 4 by him plus an intro and outro, the Ep will be dropping on the 20th of April and I am very confident it will prove that I have something to  offer in Hip Hop as I have shown on the Back to the city festival challenge, even though I did not make it to the top 8, but being chosen among the best in S.A shows real potential.
People often ask me, “What do you use to make beats”?, “how do you connect with all this people”?, and I always tell them it’s simple to get things done if you really know how to get them done, so I still use FL Studio preferably version 9 and yes I still sample, I mostly use Facebook to connect myself with people around the world. I don’t think I will stop doing what I do best especially ever since I discovered how passionate I am!!!!
My dream, to see Bushbuckridge on the map worldwide and being recognized because that place has a lot of potential…..bless

                                                                Slang G "The don"
T-Boy Killa and Slang G

Name:Eben, Slang G "The don"
Surname:Mkhabela
Age:1991 July 14
Occupation: hip hop Rapper
Location: Bushbuckridge, current location Pretoria

Slang G, a name that is to become synonymous with South African Hip-Hop, is a rapper from Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, he started making music at the tender age of 13 in his bedroom from his computer & with only a microphone. The rapper's first song was titled 'Close To You' & I'm sure there are no guesses as to what the subject matter of it was, at 13, puberty has just kicked in & as a boy, his first muse was a girl.

Fast forward to 2010 where the rapper completed his matric in Sybrand van Niekerk, a school situated in the small town of Sabie, Mpumalanga to appease his mother, as he wanted to pursue his rap career the entire time. He even did music in Pretoria's State Theatre the year after completing matric.

In his final year of high school the rapper recorded his first music video (
http://m.youtube.com/watch?hl=en&client=mv-google&gl=GB&v=3Sh1TErmnoM) Don't Try Him. While doing music in the State Theatre, Slang G recorded his second music video, (http://m.youtube.com/watch?hl=en&client=mv-google&gl=GB&v=xDGjsfO5AZw)So Fly which has raked up a little over a 1 000 views on YouTube. 'So Fly' was a quite the success in BushBuckRidge reaching number 1 on the local radio station for 5 weeks in November 2011.In 2012 he joined forces with a fellow BushBuckRidge rapper TBoy Killa to work on a mixtape titled WeClassic produced by the likes of Eman, Cliffology as well as Assasin's Beatz.

Slang G serves an a acronym for Slang The Great, & it shows he will move with the times as 'Slang' is everchanging colloquial language & for his audience to relate to him he must be talking their language. The rapper believes that Hip-Hop is like slang in the sense that it changes & almost completely reaches the youth & that's what he's here to show us. The rapper is even working on a clothing label: G.E.E.K. The rapper is also working on his first official mixtape: The Glory & the first single is titled Judas & he says this is just the beginning of 2013

& the word on the street is he's even working with up & coming rappers R-SYN & VibeZ who are situated in North Carolina, USA so this South African rapper wants the world.

Kapture the Moment!
Very few South African producers would bet on Fruity Loops being their sound software of choice. They rather vouch for fancy brands such as Q-Base and MPC 300. However when one listens at the finished product the creativity fails the technology.

That’s until you meet Kapture, real name Ronald Malele (24). Born and raised in Bushbuckridge, Malele started his schooling at Saile and moved on to Ditau High School where he matriculated in 2007.
He says that he discovered his love for music, especially the innovation and creative side of things while he was studying PC Engineering in Joburg. While the world of technology is still what pays his bills he has ventured into serious beatmaking as his mixtape, which is still in the pipeline titled From the Underground bears testimony.
Driven largely by sampling underground skits and dodgy (unpopular) interludes his fascination with underground hip hop comes to the fore. “I grew up listening to house and hip hop but I loved hip hop more because of the messages it has. My favourite rappers were and still are Jedi Mind Tricks, Canibus, Gangstarr, Ben Shaper, Proverb, Optical Illusion etc.” Kapture says.
His evolution has resulted in him hooking up with Mpumalanga’s number one indigenous rapper Masta H (Mapulaneng Mixtape Volume One) on his follow-up mixtape. Masta H, real name Hlompho Lekhuleni swears by Kapture’s beats and says he is looking forward to working closely with him on his June release.
“I have worked with different producers such as Hydrogen, Rudy, Khulekani, Juniour, Tapsmash and many others but I find Kapture’s beats to be at another level and am looking forward to rapping my Sepulana rhymes on them”, he says.
Fruity Loops, the software that Kapture uses so well in real underground and deep songs such as The Graveyard, BBR Finest and The Angelic is also a favourite of award-winning 22-years old American producer Lex Luger. Luger has produced for artists such as Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and many others.
Kapture is a very talented young man whose command of sampling reminds one of a younger and less-arrogant Kanye West, is on point. It will be smart for some of Mpumalanga’s hip hop artists to familiarise themselves with his sound, especially those on a conscious tip and wanting beats to carry their message across. “The Graveyard is the name of my production which I chose because the graveyard is the last place where we all rest, so this means my sound is the beginning of the end.”, Kapture says in conclusion
